Rocket

Hey bloggers , 

welcome back i hope you've all had a good week ,

theses past few weeks we have had 3 engineers come into our school every Tuesday , they've been teaching us about rockets like how they run and they safety you have to take being near them . with all of this we were also building up to make a rocket which we have all done . we used plastic bottles to have the whole rocket we also cut out the top of a bottle to make the bottom of it where we would put the nuts or the stuff we were using to give the rocket weight . 

here is what my rocket looked like before we painted purple i didn't get photos of that stage of our rocket .

This week for coding we have been looking at getting a message across to the world , the one i did and was talking about the litter in the ocean and how we need to clean it up so we can save are sea creatures and our water . here are some of my pictures of my coding

Week 10 mash-up

Hope you've all had a great day and week . This week in literacy we've been learning about horror and what it means and what makes a good horror , one of the many things about horrors that you'll always find is it is placed at night time so it is always dark out side which gives it that bit more scary feature , one of the task was to get 3 horror movies and say what makes the movie seem scary just from the front page.

With maths we are learning algebra and learning all about the factors of it but the questions were different to the ones we had like A+2= ? . The question we had this week was all about finding a pattern so that we could figure the rest out . What I mean by pattern is that with everything like counting numbers theirs patterns of  how they go up and the same with times tables . With our question we had to find the pattern of how many they go up by or how many they go down by and so that we could do it without having to do the maths just know the answer next time .

Wonky week update

Hey bloggers ,

hope you've all had a great day and week . This week for my learning we have been doing so much , one of the many things i have done is finish my website i will put that up next week with a good explanation all about it so look forward to that . In maths we are still doing algebra but this week the questions were taken up a level and harder this week . We've also been doing some Samoan art I have t finished my one but I will be by next week so there's another thing to look out for .

lit literacy

Nice to see you reading again , this week for literacy we've been working on our websites about The wizard of oz , the reason we have been doing websites on The wizard of is that we have read and watched the movie and normally we would do an essay on it but this term thing got changed up a bit the website will still be wrote like an essay in a TEXAS format if you don't know what TEXAS is this is it . T means topic , E means evidences  , X means examples , A means analysis , S means summary .

So that's how i have to write everything on it .

mathematical fun

hope you've all had a great week this week , for maths this week we've been looking at some algebra we've also chosen if we would like to work by device or book i chose device . with the maths questions we've been given we have also had to find a way to make it a table / chart , it was very fun to do .

weekly fun school

hope you're having a good day i know that I am , this week being back at school has been fun but we've been getting back into work very fast . In literacy my group had been creating a website instead of doing an essay but still using the TEXAS structure to do it the website is also about the movie / novel The wizard of oz , while in ISO my literary group had to read and watch The wizard of oz we have been provided with task to get our knowledge stronger about it so when it came to this stage we would be ready . if you came back in about 3-4 weeks you'll be able to see how I've done .

For numeracy we've been learning how to use a site called kaggle , kaggle site solves maths questions for you but if you were to write a question in times you don't use x you use * and with division you use / but the rest is normal you don't have to change anything , in maths we have also started learning how to get the answer through google sheets.

While being back at school for level 2 what has been your work ?

Weekly wacky task

hope you've had an great time being back at school and in level 2 ,
while we were in level 4 from Covid-19 my school was giving out work like everyone else , most of literacy task/work was based off the novel The wizard of oz . Here is one of my favourite task that we did it was good vs evil , we were asked questions then answered them on a different slide the question were.
What does the wizard do to help people? Name at least one example.
The Scarecrow and the tin man kill the Wicked Witch of the West's crows, wolves, and bees, and the Lion kills a giant spider. Why do you think they're still described as "good" characters?
When Dorothy kills the Wicked Witch of the West, she says she's "very sorry indeed" (12.82) Do you believe her? Why or why not?

weekly time table

hope you've all had a great holiday and are ready to get back into school i know I am .

on Wednesday school started back up but online and so we were given task to do . One of the task was to do a weekly time table so here is mine .

Samoan counting

Hello bloggers , 

We are learning Samoan every Wednesday and over the last two weeks we have been learning how to count to ten. I found this quite easy as it is very similar to counting to 10 in Maori.  Today we used Scratch to code a programme that would show people how to count to ten in Samoan.  Check it out!  Can you count to 10 in any other language?

Coding

Every Wednesday for the past 5 weeks we have been doing Samoan and coding switching through and learning , for coding we have been learning about binary . One of our task that we had was make a google doc , create a table which will be 10 by 14 so 10 across and 14 down , the next thing you had to to do was colour in some squares black and leave some white , after that you would binary count which mean the white ones count as 0 and the black one counts as 1 , here is my code for it if you want try it out .

My Sestina / NZ Writing

hello bloggers ,

this is my sestina for NZ writing , we will be sending these to a school in Hamilton . We are looking forward to theirs . you could either to pick to write it off somethings that's real or just make it up it was your choice my was just made up , with the writing you had to make 6 sentences and have 6 words in them no less or no more here is mine .

Family tree

The past week or two we have been talking about our identity like who we are where we came from more,  last week we did our family trees for our identity slide . here is mine
in the first row as you can see is my grandparents , then as we go down it is my dad and mum and all of their siblings so my aunts and uncles , then in the last row is me and my siblings and all of my aunts and uncles children .

OUTline NZ poster

this term for inquiry we are looking at comancation so when were out in the world after schools finished or we are just out we know how to have a good conversation with others , this week we've been looking at helplines/ communities for example there was kids line , OUTline NZ , youth line , SPCA and more. Yesterday we made posters for one of the communities of our choice i picked to do OUTline NZ it is all about LGBTQ+ it is a service to help the people who need someone to talk or just help coming out and more stuff , Here is the poster i ,made for OUTline NZ
